MPOC EDUPALM 2025: Empowering Future Leaders Through Palm Oil Education

Thirty students from the University of St Gallen took part in the final session of MPOC’s EDUPALM 2025 Programme at the Palm Oil Experience Centre (POEC), Carey Island. The programme provided a comprehensive overview of the history, science, nutrition and sustainability of Malaysian palm oil, delivered through expert-led sessions and on-site field demonstrations.
The session offered participants first-hand exposure to how Malaysia’s palm oil industry integrates innovation with responsible and sustainable practices, equipping them with practical insights and knowledge that extend beyond the classroom.
Empowering Future Chefs: Malaysian Palm Oil Workshop at A Au Vocational School

MPOC, in collaboration with Calofic Corporation Vietnam, successfully conducted a Malaysian Palm Oil Workshop in a professional kitchen setting at A Au Vocational Guidance School, Ho Chi Minh City.
The workshop brought together 40 trainee chefs and featured focused presentations on “Cooking with Palm Oil: Versatility and Benefits” and “Palm Oil Applications in the Bakery Sector”. These sessions were complemented by live cooking and baking demonstrations led by Chef Richard Bui, together with the Calofic team, showcasing the practical performance and adaptability of Malaysian palm oil in professional culinary and bakery applications.

Held at Hyejeon College, South Korea, in collaboration with APRO Foodtainment, the programme highlighted the versatility and sustainability of Malaysian palm oil through live cooking demonstrations, presentations, and interactive sessions. The sessions were led by Professor Suk Hoo Yoon of Woosuk University and Chef Aiden Ahn.
The workshop drew 60 participants, including professional chefs, culinary students, and food industry representatives, underscoring strong industry interest in incorporating sustainably sourced palm oil into foodservice and manufacturing applications.
National Conference of the Indian Medical Association (IMA NATCON) 2025: Advancing Evidence-Based Nutrition Dialogue

MPOC participated in the 100th National Conference of the Indian Medical Association (IMA NATCON 2025), a premier medical platform bringing together doctors, researchers, and healthcare leaders from across India.
A key highlight was the cardiology-led scientific sessions by Dr Varun Bansal and Dr Ketan K. Mehta, who presented evidence-based insights on dietary fats, atherosclerosis, and cardiometabolic health. The sessions sparked robust, science-driven discussions and addressed long-standing perceptions surrounding saturated fats and palm oil in clinical nutrition.
