OTAI Northern Zone Seminar: Driving Evidence-Based Conversations on Palm Oil

HOSTEX 2026: Expanding Opportunities in South Africa’s Food Service Sector
8-10 March 2026 • Johannesburg, South AfricaMPOC, together with our Malaysian partner Premium Vegetable Oils, showcased Malaysian palm oil at HOSTEX 2026 in Johannesburg, engaging with HORECA players, distributors and food manufacturers. Over the course of three days, the exhibition drew strong interest in high-performance frying solutions and quality palm-based ingredients, underscoring the versatility, stability and cost-efficiency of Malaysian palm oil for the food service sector.
From initial enquiries to more in-depth discussions with key buyers, the event highlighted growing opportunities within the South African market. MPOC remains committed to strengthening industry partnerships and expanding the presence of Malaysian palm oil through continued trade engagement and collaboration.
Engagement with Uzbekistan Ambassador: Expanding Pathways into Central Asia
7 February 2026 • Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaMPOC hosted a strategic engagement with H.E. Mr. Karomidin Gadoev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, alongside senior representatives from leading Malaysian palm oil companies, including Wilmar International, KLK Alami, FGV Holdings Berhad, SD Guthrie Berhad, Premium Vegetable Oils and Sarawak Oil Palms. MPOC Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Belvinder Sron, highlighted Uzbekistan’s growing role as a gateway to the Central Asian market and its strategic importance in Malaysia’s market diversification efforts.
During the session, the Ambassador outlined opportunities to expand the supply of Malaysian palm oil into Uzbekistan and neighbouring markets, encouraging companies to consider local stock positioning to support regional distribution. The discussion also underscored MPOC’s participation in UzFood 2026 as part of its ongoing market development initiatives in Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region.
